Painting Elysian Drop Troops

This is the proof! Now you know that I'm listening to you, at least one of you. Aksel suggested that the visor on the helmets would be red. At first I thought it was complete gibberish to paint them red. I was so wrong, I love the colour!

Kristian told me something real smart about painting, when you use one base colour it's always smart to paint some of the details in the same colour but in another tone, lighter or darker. This way it looks more painted but still not to rainbowish. Of course you need accent colours to, but be careful so you don't overdo them. Purity wins.
My big problem now is what colours to use on the guns and on the coil on the plasmagun. Please help!

  1. The pictures turned out great!
With the plasma coils I would go with glowing blue 'cause it would stand out the most. Plasma weaponry is rare, and extremely deadly, so it should be visually represented on a model with the right colours. And It's nice not to have to pick up a model just to see what's it armed with. It should be clear with just a glance. WYSIWYG for president!

  2. Noted! But what colour do you think I would use on the regular guns and pistols?

  6. I know, I know. I just wanted as many opinions as possible. But they will probably kaki-coloured. Otherwise what do you think about dark brown?
